Board of Directors
Simon Chin, MBA, President, CEO and Founder, has two decades of U.S. and international management experience in general administration, sales and marketing, technology development, and manufacturing within the biotechnology and semiconductor industries. He is the co-inventor of Iris’s patented predictive medicine platform. Prior to Iris, Mr. Chin was the CEO and Founder of DNA Laboratories where he developed key DNA chip technologies; he also held management positions at DuPont and other leading companies.
Mr. Chin has served on the board of directors of various organizations including BACUS/SPIE, the semiconductor photomask industry organization, the Saratoga Rotary Club, and the Metro YMCA of Santa Clara Valley ($40 million budget). He was also a Finance Commissioner in the City of Saratoga, and is an advisory board member of Santa Clara University’s Ignatian Center.
Mr. Chin has an MBA from Santa Clara University and a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley, where he was an Alumni Scholar.
Dr. Daniel Farnum, MD has served as a Board Member for Iris BioTechnologies since 2003. Dr. Farnum has more than 40 years of experience in the medical field, specializing in orthopedic surgery. Dr. Farnum owns several businesses including a medical group, three assisted living facilities, and is also a partner in various investments. Dr. Farnum has a BS and MD from the University of California, San Francisco.
Grace Osborne, MBA has been with Iris BioTechnologies, initially as a consultant, since its inception in 1999. Grace has served as a Board Member since 2003. She has held dual positions as Vice President of Business Development and Vice President of Human Resources since December of 2005.
